I relocated to Southern California in 2008 after growing up in Indiana and living in Colorado and Ohio.  I am a retired software engineer and have a BS degree in Math and Computer Science from Ohio State University. After college, my time was well spent with marriage, career and raising 2 children. I still managed to take art classes here and there over the years and pick on my guitar which became my two hobbies.

Even though I did not have a lot of time to paint, I always had a camera when traveling, shooting pictures that I filed away telling myself that someday I was going to paint those scenes.

After I retired in 2017 I began taking art classes and workshops online as well as in-person classes from local artists.  When the pandemic hit, I found I had a lot of time to devote to drawing, watercolor painting and ordering art supplies from Amazon! Watercolor painting became my passion and pandemic pastime. The techniques I had been learning finally started to click.

I enjoy getting out with other artists for painting events around Ventura and Los Angeles County. My work currently leans a bit towards realism and details.  I am inspired to paint as a way to remember the beautiful scenery and places I have visited in Califoria and other western states.
