About

I relocated to Southern California in 2008 after growing up in South Bend, Indiana and living in Colorado and Ohio.  I am a retired software engineer and have a BS degree in Math and Computer Science from The Ohio State University. After college, my time was well spent with marriage, career and raising 2 children. I still managed to take art classes here and there over the years and pick on my guitar which became my two passions and hobbies.

After I retired in 2017, I devoted more time to developing my passion for watercolor painting through online classes, workshops and lessons from local artists.  When the pandemic hit, I found I had a lot of time to devote to online classes, watercolor painting and ordering art supplies from Amazon! Watercolor painting became my passion and the techniques I had been studying finally started to click.

I enjoy getting outside with other artists for painting events around Ventura and Los Angeles County. My work currently leans toward realism and details and I enjoy painting buildings, landscapes  and ocean scenes. I am inspired to paint as a way to remember the beautiful scenery and places I have visited in California and other western states.
